Can Blow-In Insulation Help Regulate Your Home’s Temperature?
When high temperatures hit your home, you probably are not thinking about your insulation. However, when it comes to regulating the temperature in your home, having a proper insulation can make a big difference. At Energy Savers Insulation & Exteriors, we use JM Climate Pro blow-in insulation. JM Climate Pro insulation is thermally efficient and offers complete coverage, even in tight spaces.
How Does Blow-In Insulation Work?
When a new home is built, batt insulation, is cut to fit in your studs and ceiling joists. This type of insulation installation is done by cutting the thick fiberglass insulation into strips and fitting it into your home. Blow-in insulation is exactly as it sounds. It is blown into your existing walls by removing a strip of drywall in the middle of your wall, installing a breathable fabric over the opening. Using a long, flexible hose, the material is blown into the gaps and small spaces between the studs creating a blanket of insulation. Blow-in insulation can be added to your attic or walls. Blow-in insulation will fill in around electrical boxes, into tight spaces, hard to reach spaces, and will prevent thermal bridging in your walls or attic.
How to Know When Your Insulation Needs an Upgrade?
There is often one tell tale sign that it is time to look at your insulation, your energy bills. If you have been noticing higher than normal bills, it can be a sign that there is an air leak in your home, or poor insulation. You might also notice uneven temperatures throughout your home. There may be areas that feel warmer or cooler than the rest of your home. If there has ever been any water damage, or an infestation, you will want to re-evaluate your insulation needs.
